Organizational Health Consultancy
A long-established organizational health consultancy restored trustworthy revenue reporting after cleaning up more than 800,000 contacts and untangling twelve years of accumulated Salesforce customization.
This firm built its practice around team and leadership assessment, selling consulting, books, products, and speaking engagements. Twelve years of iterating on the same Salesforce org had left object relationships tangled, hundreds of thousands of duplicate and orphaned records in the system, and leadership unable to report cleanly on revenue by line of business. The engagement began as a focused, low-commitment cleanup to prove value before any larger investment.
The challenge
Roughly 850,000 contacts had accumulated, with about 650,000 sitting in a catch-all bucket unassociated with any account, so customer hierarchies and product revenue could not be reported accurately. Web orders flowed in through a custom integration and landed against the wrong records, duplicate accounts obscured true parent and child relationships, and a heavily customized opportunity object had broken the link between opportunities and accounts.
The solution
SiiMPLY7 scoped a time-boxed Sales Cloud optimization focused on the highest-value fixes first: clearing the orphaned contact bucket, identifying genuine duplicates versus distinct entities, and establishing parent and child account hierarchies. Reporting on product revenue was rebuilt so the firm could separate consulting, product, book, and speaking sales. The marketing automation and custom web commerce integrations were reviewed so inbound data would land against the correct accounts and contacts going forward.
Implementation highlights
What we built.
- Cleanup plan for the orphaned contact bucket holding roughly 650,000 of 850,000 total contacts
- Duplicate identification ruleset distinguishing true duplicates from distinct regional locations
- Parent and child account hierarchy model for multi-location enterprise customers
- Rebuilt product revenue reports separating consulting, product, book, and speaking lines
- Integration review of the marketing automation connector and custom web commerce feed
- Storage remediation including archival and purge of legacy documents
Results
Revenue by line of business became reportable for the first time across consulting, product, book, and speaking
The orphaned contact backlog and duplicate accounts were brought under a repeatable cleanup and hierarchy model
The org shifted from a static database toward a trusted system the team could report from directly
Engagement summary
SiiMPLY7 delivered a tightly scoped, time-and-materials cleanup that targeted orphaned contacts, duplicates, account hierarchies, and product revenue reporting, designed as a low-barrier first step that proved value quickly.
What's next
The natural next phase expands the hierarchy and duplicate work across the full account base, hardens the inbound integrations so data lands clean automatically, and extends reporting and dashboards with enablement.
