Architectural Lighting Design & Procurement Firm

A lighting design and procurement firm relaunched a stalled Salesforce on a simplified project-sales model, with RFQ forms auto-creating opportunities and multi-bid tracking built in.

The client is a California-based architectural lighting design and procurement firm specializing in hotels, multifamily, and commercial developments. With 50+ employees and 50+ years of combined team experience, the firm works with some of the largest hotel developers in California and counts all major hotel franchises among its client base. Their sales process runs entirely on requests for quote across a complex, multi-bidder project pipeline. An earlier Salesforce build had fallen out of active use because it did not match how the team actually sold and was hard to use. SiiMPLY7 was engaged to rebuild and relaunch Salesforce around the project sales process and restore adoption.

The challenge

RFQs arrived by form and were entered by hand, and the existing CRM carried technical debt and usability friction that pushed the sales team off the system. A single project often drew bids from multiple contractors, which Salesforce does not track cleanly out of the box. Leadership had no reliable reporting on quote conversion, follow-up timeliness, or unresponsive bidders, and invoicing was disconnected from the sales record.

The solution

SiiMPLY7 rebuilt Sales Cloud around a streamlined, project-sales-only model. RFQ email submissions are parsed into auto-created opportunities with mapped fields and duplicate validation, and leads were eliminated entirely in favor of an opportunity-first flow. The team simplified the interface around a bid list with quote-sent, last-contacted, and follow-up-due fields, added multi-bid tracking so one opportunity can carry several bidding companies with automatic Won and Lost handling, and connected Shopify and QuickBooks so invoicing flows from the project record.
